Age and Size
Backpacks come in a variety of sizes and you should select the proper size base on the age and size of your child. A proper sized backpack will be worn about 2 inches above the waist with both shoulder straps in use. This will lessen the possibility of posture problems and back pain associated with the use of backpacks.
Comfort
Children today are hauling around books and supplies that can be very uncomfortable. Look for backpacks that feature padded shoulder straps and a padded back. Also you may consider a backpack with a waist belt if your child does carry a large amount of books. This will help stabilize the backpack and transfer some of the weight to the hips. Compression straps on the side of the backpack are used to tighten up a less than full main compartment
Safety
Consider backpacks that feature some sort of reflective material on the back and the sides. This will add visibility to your child as they move about in the fall and winter months. Also after your purchase you should shorten any straps that are excess in length after the backpack has been adjusted for your child. This will help to keep those long straps from getting caught in doors or stepped on.
Durability
Look for tough durable designs if you would like the backpack to last the full school year. A waterproof design will also last longer.
Features
Choose a backpack that has multiple small compartments. These are useful for holding cell phones, calculators, keys, etc. Another nice feature is a concealed inside small zippered pocket to keep cash in. Some schools require children to bring a water bottle to school, check for a side pocket that will hold a regular size water bottle without falling out.
Style
Keeping in mind the importance of function and the points above, there are more options today than ever. Choose wisely and look for a style that best suits your child. Older kids today tend to lean towards the messenger style bags as an option to the normal backpack style. Younger kids may insist on that cartoon character backpack. Whatever style you choose just make sure that it is ergonomically sound, is comfortable and can meet the school year workload.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TinkerbellTinkerbell Kid's School BackpacksVisit Wikipedia for more information on TinkerbellTinker Bell (also known as Tinkerbell or Tink for short), is a fictional character from J. M. Barrie's 1904 play and 1911 novel Peter and Wendy. She has also appeared in multiple film and television adaptations of the story, in particular the 1953 animated Walt Disney picture Peter Pan. She also appears in the official sequel Peter Pan in Scarlet
by Geraldine McCaughrean and commissioned by Great Ormond St Hospital
as well as the "Peter and the Starcatchers" book series by Ridley
Pearson and Dave Barry. At first only a supporting character described
by her creator as "a common fairy", her animated incarnation was a hit and has since become a widely recognized unofficial mascot of The Walt Disney Company, and the centerpiece of its Disney Fairies media franchise including the direct-to-DVD film Tinker Bell. In her animated form she leaves a trail of twinkling pixie dust.Tinker Bell was described by Barrie as a fairy who mended pots and kettles, like an actual tinker.
Her dialogue consists of the sounds of a tinkling bell, which is
understandable only to those familiar with the language of the fairies.
Though sometimes ill-tempered and vindictive (getting the Lost Boys to shoot arrows at Wendy), at other times she is helpful and kind to Peter. The extremes in her
personality are explained in-story by the fact that a fairy's size
prevents her from holding more than one feeling at a time, so when she
is angry she has no counterbalancing compassion. Fairies can enable
others to fly by sprinkling them with fairy dust (sometimes called
"pixie dust" by Disney, and presented as "starstuff" in Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson's novel series). At the end of the novel the suggestion is that Tinker Bell has died in
the year after Wendy and the Darlings leave Neverland, and Peter has no
memory of her at all. BuyMeAToy.com
